Farmer and a Horse

Once upon a time, there was a farmer who had a beautiful horse. The horse was strong and healthy and helped the farmer in his work every day. One day, the horse ran away and the farmer was very upset. His neighbors came to console him and said, "What bad luck! Your horse has run away."

But the farmer replied, "Bad luck? Who knows what is good and what is bad?" The neighbors were puzzled and left.

A few days later, the horse returned with a wild stallion. The farmer and his son were able to tame the wild stallion and train him. The neighbors saw this and said, "What good luck! Your horse has brought back another horse."

But the farmer replied, "Good luck? Who knows what is good and what is bad?" The neighbors were once again puzzled and left.

The next day, the farmer's son tried to ride the wild stallion, but he was thrown off and broke his leg. The neighbors came to console the farmer and said, "What bad luck! Your son has broken his leg."

But the farmer replied, "Bad luck? Who knows what is good and what is bad?" The neighbors were once again puzzled and left.

A few weeks later, the army came to the village to recruit young men for the war. The farmer's son was exempted from being drafted because of his broken leg. The neighbors came to congratulate the farmer and said, "What good luck! Your son is saved from the war."

But the farmer replied, "Good luck? Who knows what is good and what is bad?"

This story teaches us that sometimes what appears to be bad luck can turn out to be good luck in the end, and vice versa. We should not jump to conclusions or judge situations too quickly. It's important to stay calm, patient, and open-minded, and to trust that everything happens for a reason.
